Following ongoing improvements to the referral process on the Klinik Im Hasel website, we've now taken a decisive step forward. Through targeted optimisations, we've made the process even more efficient, flexible, and secure.

Referral processes are a central component of healthcare provision in Switzerland. They ensure that patients are referred effectively to specialists or specialised clinics. This involves the transfer of sensitive health data such as medical history, diagnoses, or examination results. A smooth referral enables seamless follow-up treatment, avoids duplicate examinations, and ensures the best possible care. Depending on the specialist area and facility, the process can be structured differently – the best solutions arise from the interplay of experience and continuous development.

Together with our partner Pom Pom and the team at Klinik Im Hasel, we’ve developed a solution that is streamlined and comprehensive. The referral now takes place in several clearly defined steps, which makes the process more transparent. Input errors can be detected and corrected more quickly. User and rights management has also been improved. Access is controlled specifically, and traceability is ensured at all times. Additionally, a status marker ensures optimised process management and supports internal workflows.

Data protection was particularly important to us. Therefore, we have further improved the security concept. All entered information remains secure on the web server, while only an encrypted link is sent via email. Furthermore, all data is stored in a Swiss data centre that guarantees the highest security standards. This ensures that it remains protected at all times, is retrievable under control, and complies with the requirements of the Swiss Data Protection Act.

Another crucial step was the transition to Craft CMS, which gives us more end-to-end control and interfaces. Changes to the referral form can be made directly in the system – without technical effort.
