The Giruno shows Nose's take on the direction in which transport design will develop in the future. Relaxed matter-of-factness, full accessibility and maximum comfort, combined with efficiency and solid reliability. The interior and exterior of this high-speed train are the embodiment of the brand values of both the operator, SBB, and the manufacturer, Stadler Rail.
The new super athlete of the SBB combines its distinct and independent characteristics with the grace of sober and functional superiority.
Sporty Profile
The bodywork is slightly sloped at the top and bottom, creating a dynamic effect that is reminiscent of an aircraft fuselage. Functional advantage: the widest point is exactly at the elbow height of the seated passenger.
Fast Head of the Train
The shape and joint pattern have been aerodynamically and acoustically optimised. At the same time, the elegant lines of the train's body are continued and blend harmoniously into a characteristic “face”.

The care and attitude of a brand is most evident by the perfection in its details.
Perfection in Every Detail
The impressive, convex SBB logo on the front ensures that the positive impact of the Giruno contributes directly to the SBB brand.

Here's Looking at You, Kid
The front is the face and the headlights are the eyes of the train. Thanks to the new possibilities offered by the latest LED technology, an elegant, minimalist design language has been chosen.

The interior design fulfils SBB's promise of "at home on the move".
Comfort at 250 km/h
Lighter colours enlarge the space, darker shades in the floor area create a sense of security. The train windows with their right-angled corners are reminiscent of modern, frameless living-room windows.
Online like at Home
The Giruno is a rolling business lounge for everyone. There are power sockets at all seats, while Wi-Fi and mobile phone amplifiers ensure good reception.

A Comfortable Seat Alone is Not Enough
Today's rail travellers expect the travel experience to be thought out holistically, with solutions catering to a wide range of needs.
Icons Speak All Languages Nothing communicates faster than stylised images, regardless of whether they are used to draw attention to bicycle and ski storage space or the current occupancy of the various carriages in the passenger information system.

No Barriers
Unusually for high-speed trains, the Giruno was designed entirely for low-floor boarding. It is unique in Europe as it was built to accommodate platform heights of both 55 cm and 76 cm. The fully wheelchair-accessible zone includes the restaurant car and one first-class and one second-class compartment.
Even before the Giruno was introduced in 2020, it had already caused quite a stir in specialist circles and won its first design award.
